Ambassadors Community Organization (ACO) is an inner city faith based 501(c )3 that serves “at risk” children, teenagers, and adults. We are founded and headquartered in the wonderful city of Augusta, Georgia.

ACO is guided by a Board of Directors that is dedicated and serves with great compassion, passion, conviction, and a heart for inner city and disadvantaged children, teenagers, and adults.

Currently, all of our programs are being hosted by St. Mark UMC. They have graciously extended full use of their church facility.

History

ACO began in April 2003. There was so much “talk” about addressing the social ills of the inner city. However, instead of “talking” and being “reactive” we chose to proactively create and implement genuine programs that would effect real change in the inner city.

ACO mission is to change the lives of inner city families from the inside out. To achieve this mission, we purposed in our hearts that we would not be another social agency which supplies “quick fixes.” We chose instead to be unique and serve the entire family as a unit. Most of the organizations only had contact with the children as they arrive at their door. We knew that to be effective change agents, we roll up our sleeves and be in it for the long haul. We must meet our families where they live to understand the dynamics of the home.

Although we do not turn anyone away and serve families from all over Augusta, we have a special passion for inner city and disadvantaged children and teenagers.

We are supported through the generosity of various churches, businesses, and individuals. We are grateful to partner with other organizations with like minded goals for the inner city. originally began at Dyess Park on James Brown Blvd and Walton Way.
